Official Steel Supplier to Emirates Team New Zealand

Fletcher Steel has been appointed as Official Steel Supplier for Emirates Team New Zealand, Defender of the 36th America’s Cup. Fletcher Steel’s Easysteel steel distribution business will provide the team’s steel through the initial build period and ongoing through the America’s Cup Match in March 2021.

“Fletcher Steel is extremely proud to be supporting an iconic Kiwi team in their defence of the 36th America’s Cup” says Neil Watson, Head of Marketing for Fletcher Steel. “This was a very easy decision for us when we were approached by Tom Waterhouse from Emirates Team New Zealand. The team at Fletcher Steel has some fanatical supporters of Emirates Team New Zealand and all our offices were a buzz of excitement when the America’s Cup was brought home in 2017.”

Easysteel will initially be supplying the steel to build the cradles for moving the boats from their base and into the water for testing and for when racing starts but will be looking to offer a full range of specialty steels for more technical uses by the team.
